Chapter T: Tale

<— Previous Chapter                                                                                            Next Chapter —>

The wedding ceremony was the talk of the town for the next few days. The Jester’s act after the wedding made people laugh for a long time. Overall the day was one of the best days the Kingdom ever had. The King and People of Benin had left after a few days and everything was getting back to normal in Heaven.

Advaita learnt that wedding in Heaven or in any other Kingdom for that matter happened during the middle of the day when Sun shone at its brightest. It was a belief that Sun would be spreading its light all over the world, most at that moment and light in the newlywed’s life would stay on forever. He had found that belief interesting.

Now that the days had passed. He wanted to talk to General Thomas about the truth of Rob. When he raised this matter with General Thomas, General said they would sit in the evening for the same. Advaita now was eagerly waiting for sun to set.

General Thomas, Tip Roy and Advaita were again seated in General’s study and General continued the tale from where he had left

Rob was in love. Since he was very close to Prince Aiden he could met Princess Agnes. Rob started to impress her with his visions and thoughts. Slowly even Princess Agnes fell in love with him. Even Prince Aiden didn’t know about them. Rob and Agnes had started spending time in secret. They took our help to do so. When they were sure they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, they decided to tell Aiden about it.

Prince Aiden was initially not very happy but Princess Agnes talked to him. The views of Rob had always impressed him and he finally agreed to talk to King William on the same. On the Parallel Rob wanted to bring change in the kingdom. He wanted to remove the atrocity shown against the poor by rich lords. Poor girls were getting raped and killed. None of the poor supported him as they thought this would make things even worse.

Meanwhile the love story of him and Princess Agnes reached the King’s ears before Prince Aiden could talk to him.King William ordered the soldiers to get him Rob. They had a discussion where King threatened him. Rob was not ready to listen to any of it. But he stayed silent as he knew he could get killed if he rebelled. The King gave him a final warning and let him go. Prince Aiden tried talking to the King but it went in vain.

One day Princess Agnes wanted to meet Rob. When she tried to sneak out from the Palace to meet him, few soldiers saw her and informed the king. King disguised himself and followed her; he caught her before she could reach Rob’s place. He threatened her that he would burn Rob’s house in front of her if she saw him again. That very night Princess Agnes went to Prince Aiden and told him what had happened. She had said she would die if she doesn’t get Rob. The next day King Summoned Rob’s father Lian and warned him on this as well.

Lian came to this very house to talk to my father. He explained my father the whole scenario and said that he would be leaving the city with the family and try to live somewhere peacefully. My father said he would try talking to King on this matter. I heard their conversation and immediately went to inform Rob about his father’s idea of leaving the town. Prince Aiden was with him at that time. He suggested that Rob and Agnes should escape from the city or else they could never unite.

Prince Aiden himself devised a plan for their getaway. The very next night he got Agnes with him. As I took Rob to the outskirts of the city. We gave them gold coins, food and asked them to be careful in the forest. That was the last we had seen them. Rob’s Parents were killed the very next day and their house was put on fire by an angry King William.” General Thomas ended the tale.

“I saw the dagger in your hand the morning of wedding day when you were asleep. I had given that dagger to Rob the day they left. When I asked Shadow how you had that, she told me it was your father’s. I am sure that you are their son now” he said. Advaita was silent now. “We do not live in a perfect world where fairy tales come true but in a world where life is a struggle for survival and we need to find happiness within it” he now understood why his father had said that.

Seeing Advaita silent Thomas and Tip realised he needed a break. “You take some time son, we will talk further on this later” Tip said. General Thomas left the room. Tip sat there for sometime. When he was about to leave, Advaita said “I need a favour Tip”. Tip said he would do anything. “Can you paint portraits of Rob and Agnes?” Tip agreed and told he would give it to him by tomorrow. Advaita thanked him.

Advaita sat alone in the room deep in his own thoughts. He had called the chief of Shaka tribe his grandfather. His mother called him father as far as he knew. But people in Shaka had called his parents outsiders. Now grandfather had told his father and he were a cheat. Advaita was totally confused.

He decided he had to get to the end of this tale as soon as possible.

Chapter R: Rivalry

<— Previous Chapter                                                                                            Next Chapter —>

As they reached the Great Hall, they saw that the Kings were arguing. They had decided that there would be a tournament between the two kingdoms. Advaita was not able to understand what was happening. He asked Shadow about this. “You do not have a clue about the rivalry among us and Benin do you?” She said.

Cully came to them. “King of Benin just wanted us to get humiliated. Now they want a tournament before the marriage. We are going to the Arena “he said. Cully didn’t explain much why this was happening. Shadow and Advaita left the emptying Great Hall. They saw that The General was asking Cully to get the swords from their house. As they went Advaita asked Shadow about the rivalry. “A rivalry should be within ourselves and not with someone else” his father had told him once.

Shadow said “Before we were born. Benin always tried to humiliate our Kingdom during various tournaments organised by the kingdoms. In one such tournament the ego was so high that Benin declared that there would be war a between the kingdoms. The war went on for days. Our defence was so strong that they could not win over us. We could defend but we couldn’t make the Benin army move back. Many of our men died in the war. Finally Zulu and other Kingdoms intervened and stopped the war. Our Grandfather also died in that war. King William was heavily injured. In the treaty it was decided that a Prince of one kingdom would marry the Princess of another to uphold the peace. Since Princess Agnes was not there and there were no Princess in the Benin kingdom who weren’t married they decided that it would be for next Generation. King William crowned Prince Aiden the king and passed away soon due to injuries.”

”So that is the reason this marriage? Advaita asked. Shadow replied “No. After Prince Brian was born here. A princess was born in Benin kingdom. They had said the baby died during birth. But in reality they had killed the baby as they never wanted a Princess to be married to Heaven.” Advaita was shocked to hear that.

They were in the Arena now. Advaita had seen it from outside when he entered the city for the first time. He could see commoners and lords had different places to sit. Royals and close ones sat in a different place. King Edward gave the first choice of fight to King Aiden. Kingdom of Heaven was famous for their wrestling prowess. So King Aiden chose that. He chose Royston from Heaven’s side. King Edward chose one of his general’s. He had a smile on his face when King Aiden chose Wrestling, he had expected that.

A Three round wrestling match was decided. The two would battle within a circle and winner would be decided by a throw out of the circle or by submission. Round one started and they wrestled very well. The joint locks were getting countered and so were punches and kicks by both men. People were thoroughly enjoying this contest. First round finally went to Heaven as the Benin soldier was thrown out of the circle. There was a huge roar around the arena.

As the round two was going on Shadow continued with her story, “Heaven got the news that King Edward had killed the second baby as it was a girl too. Benin only had one son and no more after that. Heaven called all the kingdoms and broke the treaty due to this. But couple of years back there was a tournament in Benin kingdom. Princess Margaret had visited and love developed between her and Rufus. King Edward was not very happy about this but he agreed for the marriage” she said.

Second round was won by Benin and third round was going on. Due to a rivalry and war, bodies and two innocent children had died. Advaita felt sad about it. He wished he could change something. The life of poor, cleanliness around the kingdom and unnecessary wars. All needed a change he thought.

When his thoughts came back Benin had won the third round using a submission move. There was silence around the Arena. King Edward had a laugh. First game was won by Benin. He asked “Why don’t we have a competition in archery next?” to King Aiden. Aiden nodded. King Edward chose Commander Alex of Benin. Commander Alex used to lead the archery team for Benin and was considered the best archer among kingdoms. Cully came to Advaita and said “I told father that you are contesting, get ready”. Advaita was surprised. General Thomas went to King Aiden, they had a long discussion. Advaita’s name was announced from Heaven’s side.

Advaita was in one of the seats so far. Now he was in the arena with a Kingdom’s reputation at stake. Shadow wished him luck as he came down. Alex announced that that they would be aiming on ten targets across various places in Arena. 7 targets were set within the arena and 3 were set in the different seating sections. It was decided that they will be provided with longbows and arrows. The arrows should be launched successively without delay. With a New bow in hand and 10 arrows Alex started the game of Archery. Alex did manage to hit all 10 bullseye with no delay in shooting.

Advaita saw that King Aiden looked tensed. He wondered how a rivalry between these two Kingdoms got him in this position.

Chapter K: Kingdom

<— Previous Chapter                                                                                            Next Chapter —>

Advaita and the soldier came out of Tip’s house. He was thinking about what the people in Bantu tribe had told him that he looked familiar when he was interrupted by the soldier. The soldier asked him “Do you want to go back to the General’s house, sir?” “No, I would like to see the city” Advaita replied. As they walked ahead “What is your name soldier?” Advaita asked. “Grant” the Soldier replied. Advaita asked Grant to call him by his name.

Advaita noticed that only the main roads were clean. The cross roads were filled with waste and horse poop. Also he saw that people were throwing the waste outside onto the streets. “Does anyone look after cleanliness here?” He asked Grant looking at the roads. “No one bothers about these things” Grant replied.

Even though the buildings and streets looked magnificent Advaita was not happy with the way everyone was treated. “A kingdom will not be remembered just by the name of its King but also by the way people live their life in it” Advaita told Grant. This was not the first time Advaita had talked in this fashion, Grant was surprised to see the knowledge Advaita possessed. Advaita’s father had said the saying about the chief and its tribe which he replaced with the king and his kingdom.

Cully had given Advaita some gold coins to buy anything he wanted. He was wondering whether he needed anything from the shops he looked at. He saw a shop selling arrows. He felt he could do with various kinds of arrows. “I need to practice. I need my bow and arrows. How far are we from General’s house?” Advaita asked. “We will take some time to reach there. Master Cullen will be at the training field nearby. There are bows and arrows there” Grant replied.

Advaita thought it would be good idea to see Cully. He asked Grant to take him there. As they reached the training field, Advaita saw that Cully was fighting with someone. The soldiers surrounded them. They stopped at the beginning of the field. Advaita noticed that they were fighting with wooden swords. “Who is the man Cully is dueling with?” asked Advaita, “That’s our Prince Brian” replied Grant.

Advaita was very interested to watch this duel. He had heard a lot about Prince Brian and his sword fighting techniques. Advaita knew how good Cully was. Both Cully and Brian were very quick. Initially Advaita felt they were going at each other as if it was a real combat. After sometime he realized that Cully was not giving his best.

“Tell me honestly Grant, Who is the best sword fighter here in the kingdom?” Asked Advaita. Grant was amazed at how quickly Advaita had come to a conclusion. Many soldiers couldn’t even make out that Cullen was holding off against the prince. But this new guy had found it in a few moments. He smiled and replied with pride “General Thomas is the best.” He continued “Master Cullen is a natural swordsman and matches his father.” Practice got over as the wooden sword fell from Cully’s hand. “It’s a shame” said Advaita.

The Prince walked towards a building which was on other end of the field. Advaita and Grant moved towards Cully who was now talking to a few soldiers. As they moved “Do these kind of things happen everywhere here? The superiors shown as great even though they are not” Advaita asked. Grant just nodded his head. Advaita could sense the anger on Grant’s face when he nodded.

Is this Kingdom really a heaven Advaita wondered?

Chapter A: Arrows

                                                                                                                        Next Chapter —>

In the game of arrows it’s always the bow that makes a winning decision! In life we people are arrows. The more the bow string is pulled, greater the distance covered by the arrow to reach the desired target”.  Advaita remembered his dad’s words as he started running again from the arrows in his life. As he was running, he had seen that he was followed by maybe 6 or 7 guys. In his 13 years of life he had not come across a situation like this.

His father was killed and he had managed to escape from the chaos. Since then he was on the run. He was covering an unknown distance without a target. The only intention now was to live.

He had escaped with his Dad’s bow, dagger and a few arrows in a bag. He had only two arrows left with him now. It was a very dense forest. He stopped again and hid behind the bushes when he heard a roaring sound nearby. It had come from the side where he was moving towards. He could still feel the arrows pointed towards him from behind. He made his mind to move towards the sound.

As he ran a little ahead he saw that there was a little open area and just after that a cave. He hid himself again before the open area and tried to think what needed to be done.

He slowly moved towards the cave. Making sure each of his footsteps could be seen going to the cave. He could feel something being there inside the cave. He started to retrace the same step backwards and jumped to his left towards the bushes. He started to silently climb a nearby tree. As he climbed he could hear the steps coming towards open area. He froze and waited. He was well hidden for anyone to been seen unless thoroughly investigated. Advaita saw them as they reached the open area.

One of them showed the footsteps to another. The other guy nodded. He told two of them to wait outside, as he and the others moved towards the cave.

There was a smile on the face of Advaita as his trick worked. He was in two minds now. Whether to move ahead from there or wait and watch.  He decided to wait. He waited there for some time. The tiredness was getting on him. He slowly slipped but was able to grab the branch and stay at the place.

The rustling noise from the tree got the attention of the two guarding outside. “Go check that Kiri” said one to another. Kiri slowly moved towards the tree. He could see something  atop of the tree but could not make out what it was. He moved his bow pointing the arrow towards that direction. He pulled the arrow to shoot. As he was about to shoot they heard a huge roar from the cave…..

A United Kingdom

Last month, my friends and family asked me “what is your new year’s resolution?” I smiled and said “To try and make this world a better place.” Their reaction to my statement was interesting!

Consider the following two paragraphs,

I know I am smart and I also know that there are people smarter than me. I have seen this world for 23 years now. I have seen more pain than happiness around me but I still try to smile all the time. People ask me “why are you always smiling?” They think that I am always happy and I intend to keep it that way.

I know my country isn’t perfect and I know there are countries better than mine. My country has seen this world for 67 years. It has seen more pain than happiness but it still stands still amidst the people who say “I am happy to be here, I love my country.”  They know the situation of our country, it is filled with poverty and corruption, but does anyone even contemplate to try and change it!

In the above two paragraphs I compared myself to my country. Both look similar but very different. Say each one of us agree to the first paragraph. What would it mean? Are we all happy? Surely the answer would be no.  But only when the first paragraph is true the second paragraph would automatically reach perfection or at least to perfection!

So we can clearly say that we are the ones who decide what our country would be and finally what our world would be!

I know my country is full of flaws, my world is full of flaws and if and only if each individual contributes to for the betterment of the world will it see the near perfect state!

It’s not about the individual invention, rather the discovery of the truth around us that would change this world. The answers we look for will always be in this world whether we find it or not..

I would add unity as one more factor that is very much necessary to make this world a better place. In my previous post I had talked about being happy. Happiness will be at its peak when individuals help one another, which in itself will find a path to unite us….

We say “To break a stick is easy but try breaking a bundle of those same sticks…” Where will be the necessity of this breakage if we all are one!!

Think about it…

A note from the author 2:

Hi again… I am back, It’s been three months since I published anything on my blog. I would like to share a few things with you guys.

Firstly My Brother got married!! It was one of the happiest days in my life. I am generally very lazy to work when I am at home. But on my Bro’s wedding, I was happy to do the work, I don’t know why, I was just happy doing them. At the end of the day when I went to bed I was so tired, I just wondered how I got the energy to work so much! Before I could think more, I was asleep!!

Secondly I moved from my old place and shifted to a 1bhk home. Many of my family members said I am becoming responsible and maturing. Many teased me as well regarding various matters! When I shifted I didn’t have internet access for weeks, so I couldn’t write much as well as I couldn’t publish or come here.

Thirdly I want to concentrate more on writing my novel. I have written stories before which are about 100-150 pages but somewhere I felt the stories weren’t matured or strong enough. Also I feel I need to research more to gain knowledge on something I want to write, which is not happening. It maybe because my efforts are not enough or I don’t know where to look!

Well this is about my life so far….

Now to an incident which happened to one of my colleague
He lost his mobile. The way he lost his mobile is kind of mystery in itself. It was a very expensive one and moreover it was presented by his sister. He went to police station to register a complaint. The interesting thing was, the cops were not ready to write one and moreover since my colleague has insurance, they are talking as if he is hiding it for the money; suggesting him that it might be one of his friends etc.

Just to get a bribe these cops are crossing limits in all the possible ways. Heights of Bangalore police

Just because of a few corrupt, irresponsible policemen our hope and belief in them is diminishing. There are good cops and but bad cops too.

This goes for all the fields. If we look around just for a moment, we will notice good as well as some bad around us. The good bad battle will keep going on; that’s how life is! Sometimes I feel the definition of good and bad varies as per the situation. For example take a war between any two countries, one country’s good is bad for the other.

Life is a journey that we must live with our loved ones with goodness and respect and enjoy the marvel of the unexpected future.

A note from the author:My blog,My kingdom and some important stuff!

Its been a long time since I published anything… I have been busy recently… no time to write… have written all my ideas in small sheets … no idea when I will be able to complete them into a full story or a poem…I do hope to write one soon.. I only feel like writing when I am alone with my ideas and not when there are thoughts about my work, my life, I mean my lifestyle….

Well, anyways.. In this note I want to share a thought that came to my mind when I started this blog…

My blog is my own place… It’s like my own kingdom (writings)… I state what I want, I show what I want.. I put forth what I want…

People who follow me (my blog) are like the people of my kingdom and these people also have their own kingdom, whichever kingdom you like you can be a member of it. It’s like every single kingdom can be your own kingdom. A king/queen in one kingdom is the citizen of another! So in a way we all are peers, all are kings/Queens!!

Travelers come, see my kingdom. Few appreciate my thoughts, few give away their thoughts as comments, few help us with their thoughts to improve our own Kingdom, few become their citizens, their wishes and likes make us follow them to their kingdom and we may become their followers. This goes on like there is no end, which is good and that’s the way it should be!!

When I see this whole concept, I feel wonderful. Life in this kingdom is sharing my thoughts, my views, in various manners, it helps me to put forth my ideas in front of the world and in turn it helps me to evolve into something new. I feel I am somehow maturing differently than when I was without this kingdom. Well, people around me still see me doing crazy stuff and talking random philosophy and cracking some pjs all the time!! As I always say there will always be a child in us whatever maybe our age.

This kingdom has made me know more about the world, people around the globe. I have started to look at things in a better way, though there are many damages being done to it. But this kingdom of ours will always be a part of us and we will always try to improve it in one way or another.

Mother Earth, if we see her as a person, we people are destroying her by destroying ourselves. The rule is simple live and let live .We still can’t manage that and we call ourselves mature, just think about it guys and least if not for us but for the future of our race.

It’s like a chain. I mean we need to see us as an individual first, we first need to fight our own thoughts, ie everything starts from inside and then we may have to face other individuals with their own thoughts  and this finally effects mother earth. Whatever we do for us or for others, it finally comes to one thing! Also amount of certain emotions is different in each humans though all have every single one, maybe that might be the reason!!

Feel like talking about what’s going on in my country, though it’s out of the syllabus as we say in college!!

If you are following the news of my country, North East India is being targeted in many ways… I don’t want talk about the facts but the aftereffect of it is that north eastern people around the country are being threatened to leave various cities like Pune, Bangalore etc. The government has been saying in various states that all north eastern people are safe in various cities but the reality is nobody is taking the necessary action, when there is a threat to people and police are just there to pretend that they are there to protect.

Seriously I don’t understand what’s wrong with the people… I hope someone will put some sense into their heads and make them do the right thing…

LIVE AND LET LIVE PEOPLE

If life in real world was as simple as this kingdom we would all be happy, just because of few sadists who move like wind and pollute the air we intake which in turn results in a change in the mindset of weak ones resulting in a bigger catastrophe…..

Hope that all friends from north east are safe and are strong enough to bear this passing wind

Take care all, work on your emotions and work for a better future…

Thank you
